Remembrance Activities
admin on: Reception
13th November 2020
On Wednesday, we focused on Remembrance Day. We took part in the two minutes silence at 11am where we through about everyone, including animals, that have fought in a war. We also created lots of different craft activities relating to this.
We used tissue paper, cellophane and card to create stain glass poppies, how beautiful they looked with the light shining through!
On the cutting and sticking table, we cut slits around red circles to represent the poppies then finished them off with a green leaf.
We used our printing skills to create poppies using paint. We used a sponge to print the petals of the poppy then using a painting brush to create the stem and the leaf.
On the mark-making table, we used oil pastels to create a different pictures with the poppy theme.
What a poppy-tastic day we all had!
Have a lovely weekend!

Bonfire night and firework activities
admin on: Reception
4th November 2020
Today, the children have completed a range of different activities all related to bonfire night! We started the day by creating their own dance where they were the bonfires and fireworks.
The children began to learn about a new artist, Jackson Pollock. As a class, they used his 'drip painting' method to create a firework scene in a night sky.
Developing their cutting skills, children cut out different shapes to create their very own rocket with flames gushing from the bottom!
On the painting table with Miss Crowther, children used straws, which were stuck together, to make fireworks in the night sky. We even added glitter to make them sparkle!
With Mrs Mitchell, the children painted their hands to create bonfire flames, adding brown paper for the logs and glitter for the sparks.
What a cracking day we have had!

Owly Fun Day!
admin on: Reception
21st October 2020
Today, following the theme of autumn we have been looking at owls. We made different owls using different media. We have visited our school library for the first time today and the children have a book in their bags. Library will be every Wednesday so please can you bring your books in so children can choose new books on this day.
On the cutting and sticking table we used different shades of brown to create our owl outline before adding beaks and eyes.
Also, we made tube owls by rolling a piece of paper to make a cylinder before adding detail such as wings, eyes and a beak.
On the painting table we painted our hands brown then printed hem on the paper to create owls. We sat them on branches with little leaf shoots.
What a hoot we have had today!
Have a lovely half term break!
