This week we took our RE lesson into the woods for our outdoor learning session. We have been learning about Judaism and the celebration of Passover. We created Sedar plates out of natural resources and had lots of fun whilst learning about what is eaten during the Passover meal.
In History, we have learned that Stone Age people didn't waste the things around them and would use every part of their kills. We had a very fun but very messy afternoon on Monday (I apologise for the flour-covered uniforms!) We made our own salt-dough (the evidence is still in the carpet) and used it to create the shapes of teeth, bones and shells. Once this has dried out we will be making our own Stone Age jewellery.
In English, we have been writing our own explanations about how fossils are formed.
This week we have been amazing on Mathletics - lots of Bronze certificates. Well done everyone, keep up the good work!

We had rather a wet start to our week and unfortunately had to cancel our plans for working outside. Instead, we made some fabulous Stone Age cave drawings using charcoal and large sheets of paper.
In English, we continued to use Stone Age boy to inspire our writing. We have been retelling the story and writing some wonderful recounts.
We braved the drizzle for PE outside and enhanced our netball, passing skills on Tuesday.
Hoping for some better weather next week!

You have all really impressed us with how well you have settled into life in Class 3. You are listening carefully and working hard.
We have been learning all about numbers and how we can spot patterning the number bonds to 20. We also learnt our numbers to 20 in French. Tres Bien!
In Literacy, we began to look at the lovely book - Stone age Boy.
You then spent a little time in the woods, wondering what might happen if you fell into a hole. You have then written some wonderfully imaginative stories. One person has parachuted into the hole, another found that the hole was full of snakes and one more person found that once they were in the hole whatever they thought of came alive. Such amazing imaginations Class 3.
You have also begun to get really interested in our topic all about rocks. We have looked closely at the rocks using our digital microscope. Well done for bringing them in. We also looked at Miss Watkins mums flint arrowheads. We wondered how old they really were and thought they might be at least 10 thousand years old. Amazing.
Well done this week. We are sure that you will have another great week next week.

Hi everyone. We have had another great week this week.
We learnt all; about rhyming words in Literacy and created some of our own poem to put in a class poetry book. Here is our class one:
A hare is pouncing in the bushes,
The hare likes to leap,
The hare turns white in winter,
The hare jumps into the heap!
Thank you for all of your help with the rhyming words.
In Maths we have been looking at partitioning numbers. We could spot that in the number 735, the 7 was really 700, the 3 was really 30 and the 5 showed that there were 5 ones. You were super at this. Well done
We also created some wonderful still life sketches and learnt all about rocks. Can you remember they types that we looked at and the names for them?
Don't forget to have a look at Teams and the homework that we have set for you.
Well done everyone.

Hello and welcome to the all-new Class 3!
It was so lovely to see lots of smiley faces on Tuesday morning and great to hear all about your adventures over the summer.
We have had a wonderful start to the new term and have been very busy with lots of different activities.
We started our week by drawing and painting some self-portraits - not an easy task but I think you have certainly shown off your super art skills! I wonder if you'll spot anyone you recognise?
We also made the most of the sunshine at the start of the week and took our maths lessons outside. Lots of fun was had with two-digit numbers and times-tables.
At the end of the week the children have been really busy. We began our topic all about rocks and soils and went on a hunt around the grounds. We found some very interesting ones and looked at them closely under the microscope. The colours and patterns were wonderful.
The children have also learnt a little French so they can now say good evening and good night to you. We have also learnt a new song in music by a famous singer. See if the children can remember his name and sing you the song.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all for week 2 in Class 3. Well done everyone.
