Happy New Year!

Wow!  How are we in 2022 already!  It sounds like most of you have had a super break.  You must have all been very good because it sounds like Santa visited every house in class, including the grown ups.

We have had a really busy week back in school.  We have welcomed our lovely new member into class with open arms.  You are such a friendly and supportive class of children.  That makes us all really proud of you all.

We have been really fortunate to have a golf pro and former Olympian in to coach us during our PE lessons.  I wonder how many golf pros we will have in the future.

We have been learning all about fractions in Maths. We have set some Mathletics all about fractions for you.  Don't forget to get on and see how many Bronzes we can get this week?  Maybe even a few silvers?

We have been thinking about sentences in English.  We learnt about different types of conjunctions.  I wonder if anyone can remember what we called them?

Have a great weekend, keep safe and we will see as many of you all as possible next week.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

What a wonderful treat we have had this morning!  M and M productions visited school and performed their wonderful Pantomime of A Christmas Carol.  The children sang along, clapped and danced (so did a few of the teachers!).  There were a few scary moments, but Scrooge turned out to be a good man in the end and helped Tiny Tim and Bob Cratchit have a wonderful life and a happy Christmas time.  no more Bah Humbugs from him!

We are also in full rehearsals for our Christmas production.  The children have amazed us all with how quickly they have learnt their lines and the songs.  Well done, you are making us very proud of you!

Keep practicing your lines and the songs over the weekend.  Remember slowly and clearly is the best way!

Have a great weekend.

Week ending Friday 3rd December 2021

admin on: Class 3

December is here! The advent calendars have been opened, some naughty elves have arrived in my house and more importantly... the Christmas play rehearsals have begun! The children now know their parts and are hopefully busy learning their lines and actions at home. I will send a note home on Monday with each child outlining the types of clothing they will need to wear. No-one is required to buy any new items as we are trying to keep costumes as simple as possible. Only a handful of children require specific costumes and we will try to source/make those in school. We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 15th December.

We have also managed to squeeze in some work too this week! Lots of fun was had by all in our Science lesson. We have been investigating different types of magnets and finding out all about when they attract and repel.

We have ploughed our way through our termly assessments this week and showed off about all of the things that we have learned so far.

In PE, we experimented by using our bodies in different ways to make turns and created sequences with partners.

We also used this wonderful photograph to create some stories about who might live in the ice palace and what might have happened.  You all did a fantastic job, writing about Russian rulers, kings and queens or Santa.

Well done this week everyone.

Wow again Class 3.  You are working so hard.

This week we have been learning all about division and how it links with multiplication.  This can be a little tricky, but you all tried really hard with it.

Sadly we finished our Iron Man book.  You have all enjoyed reading it and fining out about the space-bat-angel-dragon and how The Iron Man saved the world.  We have even created a display of your lovely work.

We also had the opportunity of visiting the book fair yesterday.  The children had a good look around and brought home a sheet with a wish list on it.  Please do not feel pressured to buy from the book fair, but if you do please bring the sheet back into school, having paid online and Mrs Cooper can organise your books to go home.  If they sheets could be back in on Monday, Tuesday at the latest please.

The children are really enjoying finding lots of great vocabulary for our vocab wall.  If you have a look at the homework this week, we might be able to add to it!

Have a fantastic weekend, keeps safe and see you all next week.

Well we have had another wonderful week Class 3.  You have all been enjoying our work on The Iron Man and have been producing some wonderful writing based around our book.  We have also been learning all about direct speech and using inverted commas in our writing.  You have been great at this.  Well done.

We have also been working on our times tables.  You are working so hard at this and have really impressed us all.

Your skill on the handball court have also been progressing wonderfully.  We can see how you are able to defend the goals and stop the other team scoring.  We have also noted how you are able to move around the court trying to get the ball.  Great skills.

Keep working hard, have a great weekend and we will see you all next week.
