Ancient Civilizations - the winter project.

admin on: Class 6

To be completed by Monday 6th January.

Who do you think were the most important  ancient civilization?
And why?
Did they last longer than others?
Did they occupy more territory?
Did they win more wars?
Was their ruler particularly cool?
Most importantly, what was their legacy? Can we see signs of them in the World today?

Next half term, the history topic will be based on Ancient Civilizations, culminating in a History Fair, where you will be expected to put your case forward, as to why your choice is the best choice. The research and time that you put in now, will pay dividends going forward.

The project can be presented in a variety of media: hand-written, printed, on a poster, PowerPoint, etc.

Suggestions for your investigation: Turks – Ottoman, Romans, Sumerians, Celts, Vikings, Greeks, Incas, Mongols, Egyptians… or maybe you have another idea?

Enjoy!

Mathletics / Xmas Project

admin on: Class 6

I decided to give the children a break from Mathletics this week, as we are doing practice SATs.

Next week I will set some homework that can be done anytime between Monday and the first Monday back in January.

There will also be a project on Ancient Civilizations, which your child should be able to discuss with you.

Thanks - Mr C
