Class 6
Australia Crisis
admin on: Class 6
15th January 2020
Both children and staff are very aware of what has been happening in Australia concerning the bushfires. The School Government have come up with a fundraising idea to raise money to help all the animals that have been burned or injured. The WWF-Australia say that it has been estimated that around 1.25 billion animals have been killed across Australia to date. This includes thousands of koalas and other iconic species such as kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras, cockatoos and honeyeaters burnt alive, and many thousands more injured and homeless. For more information visit https://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergency#gs.rrws96.
As a school, we are planning to walk the equivalent of the distance from Sydney to Canberra, which is 288 km or as close to this as possible across next week. We will be collecting donations on Friday 24th where we will see if we can fill an outline of Australia.
We really would appreciate the support and keep your eyes peeled for updates on our school blog.
Thank you,
The School Government

Happy New Year everyone.
Yes, we really are back today - it isn't a dream.
The nights will get lighter and the snow will get snowier (apparently).
I hope you all had a great break.
Watch out for the email address change - it is now: class6@netherthongprimary.co.uk

Mrs J doesn't like being on photos.
Thanks to Sophie Badrock for coming in and helping (taking photos, packing up Christmas things, etc).
Have fantastic holidays folks - see you in 2020!
