LOOKING FOR TWO REPRESENTATIVES for the RECEPTION CLASS!
Hello all my new and returning parents. As you will have heard on the news, budget cuts to school is a worrying time for education and it will affect your child unless something is done.
Our school the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) a charity which will fund raise money solely for school and our children. This will have a positive impact on your child and provide many of the enrichment opportunities that the school budget can’t provide. We therefore need a committee. We are looking for two representatives from our Reception class who will go to meetings and put forward your ideas for fund raising. They will also filter down any messages or information gained at the meeting to all the other parents of the Reception class. The new committee will be more flexible and you will not be asked to attend all events just because you are a member. The more people join in the less work we all have to do. It’s all going to benefit your child and they have another 7 years at Netherthong school. It is a great way of getting involved with the school and meeting new people.
FIRST MEETING: Monday 24th 6pm Class 6. These meeting maybe once a half term. If you can’t make this pop in to see Mr Clayton 3.15pm on this Monday.
Mr Clayton will be chairing the first meeting.
Please come and see myself, Mrs Oddy or Mrs Hemingway if you are interested or just turn up at the meeting on Monday and see what you think.

Autumn 1 week 3

This week we are looking at flat and solid shapes. see if you can spot them all around the house or outside.
We will be looking at changes outside for the season of Autumn and Harvesting foods.
We are also starting our RWI Phonics sessions. Your child will be bringing home a letter a day please ask them what the sound is for the day. have a go at writing in on the back using the correct letter formation which is written on the sheet.
Round the apple ( he right way) and down the leaf.

Beautiful butterflies first steps ...

Today, we watched year 2 release the butterflies that have been growing in their classroom. We released them into our nature woodland area. They were scared at first, but then they finally flew outside their net. As they fluttered off, we all felt happy but year 2 also felt sad for the little creatures, as they were going to miss them very much. We wish the butterflies bon voyage and good luck in their next steps in their life!
