School trip tomorrow

admin on: Class 2

Just to let you know a letter went home with a few reminders about our amazing school trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park tomorrow! I am very excited as I am sure the children are. Here is a copy of the reminder ...

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very excited that it is our school trip tomorrow and I would like to remind you of a few points.

  • Our dress code is school uniform.
  • We ask that children bring their packed lunch in a backpack or throw away bag as there is nowhere to store lunchboxes at the park. If I could ask that no fizzy drinks or nuts are packed in lunches.
  • Please be at school for 50am prompt as we will be setting off for the coach at 9.05am.
  • Hopefully, we will arrive back at school in time for the end of the day, but we will keep you updated by school.

Fingers crossed for the weather!

Thank you for your continuing support,

Miss Hemingway

Trim Trail Teamwork

admin on: Class 2

Today, year 2 and I had fun being trained on how to use the new trim trail equipment correctly by Mr Clayton and year 6. Each year 6 child paired up with a year 2 child to help them (and myself) across this new adventurous equipment. We are ALL looking forward to using it more at play times so thank you Mr Clayton and year 6!

An African Experience

admin on: Class 2

Today, the children were visited by Esther, a lady who has lived in Kenya and goes back to visit frequently. She told the children about what life was like including; where they lived, what food they ate, which animals lived there, where children went to school and many more interesting facts. Esther even mentioned about the encounters school had with cheeky monkeys who try to steal their food! It was such an enjoyable afternoon and the children and myself couldn't thank Esther enough for coming in!

Computing Cake Mystery ...

admin on: Class 2

Last week, Mrs Barker presented year 2 with a mystery. Via email, she asked the children to solve the mystery of a missing chocolate cake! The children had to email Mrs Barker backwards and forwards, where she slowly revealed more clues to help the children uncover the culprit. The thief was Mr Hobson! What super sleuths we are!
