Today Class 4 started their marching practice in brass. We are preparing for our performance next half term. The progress they made in just one lesson was fantastic!
PE

Today in PE, the children were able to create their own 'keep fit' activity using various sporting equipment. They worked well as a team and really enjoyed coming up with original exercise ideas! I felt I had to take a photograph as it looked really colourful!
Class 4 Brass Band
admin on: Class 4
On Saturday, some members of Class 4 were fortunate enough to play at the Civic Hall in Holmfirth as part of the folk festival.
Mr. Garlick composed the performance and the children did him proud! They played six songs that they had been learning all year, many of them arranged where different children played different parts.
We are all very proud of Class 4 for their performance, as well as Xander in Class 5 who helped out by playing the trombone. Ginette Eady, the area manager of Musica Kirklees (who provide us with our brass lessons) emailed to say "It was a wonderful concert and so good to have Netherthong School taking part and making it so special."
Congratulations Class 4!

In Class 4 this week, we have been busy using our electrical knowledge to perfect a burglar alarm. These burglar alarms will be used in a Class 4 versus Year 6 pupils experiment next week. If our burglar alarms work next week, the children will have the chance to win a chocolate to take home.
We have also used the 2animate tool on Purple Mash to create our own animations. I recommend having a look on your child's Purple Mash account to see what they have created. The results are fantastic and thoroughly entertaining.
I have spoke to a few pupils about the IXL English homework last week on prepositions. A few children have found this difficult and I've given them advice on how to answer these questions. If you feel your child needs further input on this, please send them my way!
The homework for Class 4 this week is as follows:
1.) IXL Maths - S8 and S9 on solving money problems.
2.) IXL English - D12 on irregular past tense verbs.
I have attached a photograph of this week's spellings.
Have a great weekend!
