Hello again!

Once again we've had a great week in Year 3; what a fabulous group of children they are!

Our homework this week;

IXL Maths; Q.7 ('time' problems)

IXL English: P.4 (adjectives)

The difficulty we had last week accessing IXL does appear to have been resolved!

Spellings:

We are focusing on the prefix 're'

reappear

rearrange

rebuilding

reconnect

redo

recycle

refresh

replay

redecorate

rewrite

there

We are now moving onto focusing on 'FRACTIONS' in Maths this week but please do continue to encourage your child to practise reading the time to the nearest minute; we have worked so hard on this in class and it would be a shame for the children to lose their skills!! Please also continue working on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables and practising lines for the Christmas performance (it's going to be a lovely show we hope you'll enjoy as much as us!)

Thanks so much

Maths & Lockers!

admin on: Class 3

Hello!

It appears that unfortunately the IXL Maths activity I have suggested the children complete this week is refusing to load for some reason- many apologies! In that case please could the children work on Q.1. This is another 'time' related activity; a topic the children are finding a little tricky at the moment!! Any practise reading the time to the nearest 5 mins would be fabulous!!!

We are having lockers being installed in our cloakroom tomorrow so I have suggested the children leave book-bags and P.E. bags at home until Wednesday. I'll let you know if it takes longer than tomorrow!

Thanks so much

Week 2!

admin on: Class 3

Hello again!

We've had a great week this week; the children have thoroughly enjoyed putting the finishing touches to their Stone Age villages and have enjoyed developing their Literacy skills further, whilst enjoying the Iron Man. Next week we will be creating our own Iron Men as we link our learning in D.T. to both our Literacy and Maths.

Homework this week is once again in your child's reading diary;

Spellings are;

optician

politician

mathematician

musician

electrician

magician

NN: grammar

IXL;

English: S.5

Maths: Q.2

We are currently working on the 8x tables (a little tricky) so any practise would be fabulous; as the children seem to love 'Times Tables Rock Stars' we will use these 3 times a week. The children love the challenge of testing themselves!

In view of our new D.T. project, if you have any cube or cuboid shaped boxes (avoid big ones!!) the children would love to use these to explore cube and cuboid nets this week.

Thanks so much

Time

admin on: Class 3

Hello again!

The children have all brought home a clock they have made in class. We have been focusing on telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes this week; the children are finding this very tricky!! Please use the clocks to help your child practise; initially concentrating on how many minutes to and past and later on digital times and converting these. We will be working on 'time' all week I think!!

Thanks so much
