Out of this world!
admin on: Reception
26th February 2020
Today we have carried on looking at space. We learnt a traditional Indian dance to Indian music. On the cutting and sticking table, we made out very own rockets. We drew around then cut out different 2D shapes and put them together to make a rocket. We even drew ourselves in them!
We were busy on the writing table thinking of 10 items we would take with us in a rocket to outer space.
With Mr Walshaw, we created a space picture by flicking white paint at black paper then picking some planets, rockets and the Sun to go on them.
What an exciting day we have had!

12th February 2020
Today we have carried on looking at our last traditional tale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We learnt a traditional Irish dance to Irish music. In math, we have been looking at pictograms. We collected data in groups about which traditional tale has been our favourite. We then put this into a pictogram.
We were busy on the writing table making our own trolls then describing them.
In science, we designed rafts out of different materials, for the goats to float across the river instead of using the bridge. We tested them in our water tray.
We created out very own diorama of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, cutting and sticking it all together.
With Mr Walshaw, we created an abstract scene from the traditional tale.
What a busy and exciting day we have had! I hope you all have a good rest and lovely half term.

11th and 12th February 2020
Over the past two days, children in Key Stage 1 have been learning more about Safer Internet Day. They looked at Buddy the Dog who helps them use the internet safely by using Buddy’s ‘Use Your Tablet Safely’ Song (Sung to the tune of Frère Jacques):
Ask your grown-up,
Ask your grown-up,
Ask for help!
Ask for help!
Use your tablet safely,
Use your tablet safely,
Woof, woof, woof!
Woof, woof, woof!
They also looked at Digiduck and why we should always ask permission before we send or use a picture taken of someone else. For more information, please visit: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2020
