We have managed to pack a lot into our final week of the term!
West Yorkshire Fire Service visited us at the start of the week to talk about fire safety in the home. They gave us lots of top-tips to be prepared in case of an emergency, including making a plan in case of a fire, knowing where your keys are at night time and making sure our bedroom doors are closed when we go to bed.
We had a practical Science lesson, trying to recreate what it feels like to enter old-age. We investigated what it would feel like to have impaired vision and hearing; reduced joint movement and less control of our fingers. Luckily, class 5 have a very long way to go before they need to start worrying about feeling like this (Mrs Kendal, not so much!).
In English, we read The Lorax and noted the similarities between a children's book and what is happening in the real world. We had fun taking part in a conscience alley!
To finish our topic work on The Ancient Mayan civilisation, we made a Mayan inspired dish and sampled our creations - receiving mixed reviews!
To finish the week, we took part in a lovely Easter egg hunt in our beautiful school grounds, with the sun shining on us. Thank you to Dr Bamfield and the school government for such a lovely afternoon.
It was lovely to see so many of you at this week's family sharing event. Thank you for coming - it was wonderful to see the children so proud of their work!
Have a wonderful Easter break!
Love from Mrs Kendal x
