Week ending 14.6.24

Posted: Jun 14, 2024 by: Zoe Watkins (ZWatkins) on: Class 3

Well another busy week here in Class 3!

We have continued our work all about the wonderful story of Hugo Cabret.  We thought about Hugo's personality and what we think he might have been going through.  We are also writing another chapter to fit into the book.  The children are so enthusiastic about the book.

In Maths we have been revisiting 3D shapes.  We have learnt about the properties of the shapes and even used clay to make some.   Some children were really brave and tried to make a pentagonal prism.

We have also begun out History and DT projects.

In History we have begun to delve into the past.  We particularly looked at the work house that was original on the land that St. Marys is on now.  The children learnt about why you might go into a workhouse and what life was like.  Very different to today we all decided.

Our DT project is sewing.  We are creating some wonderful embroideries.  We have had a few knots, but we are learning how to untangle ourselves.  We do and keep persevering.

Have a great weekend
