Week ending 18.10.24

Posted: Oct 20, 2023 by: Zoe Watkins (ZWatkins) on: Class 3

Well done this week.  What a glorious Autumn week it has been, lovely sunshine and a harvest moon to end the week!

You have all been working hard in Literacy, writing your own Iron Man story.  So far we have a Copper Man, A Teddy Man and a sports robot.  The children are in the process of writing an adventure story for their new character.  I can't wait to read your finished stories next week.

In maths, we have used the laptops to make 2D shapes on geoboards, which was lots of fun; we have also used geoboard in real life to make 2D shapes.  We have looked at 3D shapes and some of their properties, and used a net to create a cube and cuboid.  You are great at the technical vocabulary linked to shapes.  Well done.

In History, we have investigated the Iron Age and the Celts a little.  We discovered the wonderful art work that the Celts created, that you can still see today in silver and gold jewellery.   We learnt how it links back to the Ancient Greeks - Wow!  We even learn how to draw a Celtic knot.  This is not easy!

Have a great weekend.  Be good, be safe and be careful
