Pupil Premium Statement 2018/19

ttp://www.education.gov.uk/schools/pupilsupport/premium

About the Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is additional funding provided to school for supporting more disadvantaged pupils to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as all other children and narrow gaps in attainment.  National data shows that generally, these children do not achieve as highly as their peers. There are three categories of children who qualify for pupil premium:

 ·         Children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or have been in the last 6 years

 ·         Looked after children (including children who were adopted from care)

 ·         Armed forces children

 2018/19 Allocation

Anticipated Total Allocation £33,900

Number of children supported: 19 (10 FSM + 9LAC/AFC) 8.79%

10 x £1, 320 = £13,200

  9 x  £2,300 = £20,700

Allocation for 18/19 budget = £33,900 x 7/12’s (September ‘18 to March ’19) = £19,775

Allocation from 19/20 budget = £33,900 x 5/12's (April '18 to August '19) = £14,125

2.   Barriers to future attainment (for pupils eligible for PP, including high ability)

In-school barriers (issues to be addressed in school, such as poor oral language skills)

A.  The reading, writing and maths skills of some of those in receipt of Pupil Premium is below that of others due to their lower starting points.curriculum

B.  A number of children in receipt of Pupil Premium have social and emotional difficulties which is a barrier to learning and limits attainment.

C.  Concentration skills are a barrier to learning

External barriers (issues which also require action outside school, such as low attendance rates)

The home learning environment is a barrier for some children in both KS1 and KS2 and limits learning and limits attainment.

3.   Desired outcomes                                          Success Criteria

A.  Higher rates of progress across KS2 for  pupils eligible for PP

Pupils eligible for PP make as much progress as non- eligible children, across Key Stage 2 in maths, reading and writing. Measured by teacher assessments and successful moderation practices established across the family of schools and by KS2 Assessment outcomes

B.  Children’s social and emotional needs met

Pupils eligible for PP in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 meet age related expectations

C.  Improved concentration skills for pupils eligible for PP in school.

Pupils eligible for PP in school will make rapid progress by the end of the year so that an increased number of pupils eligible for PP meet age related expectations
