Mad Hair Day!
admin on: Class 6
It's here! The tradition is alive and well... we've been counting down the days, opening doors on our calendars and finally the moment we've all been waiting for... Mad Hair Day.
Here we go...
Language learning
admin on: Class 6
I have been sharing Duo Lingo with the class. This is a language learning app, that you may already be using in your home.
If your child is bored over the holidays and they fancy learning a new language (Klingon, Navajo, Italian, etc), then please sign them up.
Whilst I cannot endorse this product, or say that the school endorses it, I can only recommend that this is an educational way to spend any dark day. I - personally - use this on a daily basis and find a little language every day to be therapeutic and good for well-being (as well as a 50yr old brain). Maybe you will also join me?
Good luck!
Christmas buddy afternoon
admin on: Class 6
13th December 2019
This afternoon, we teamed up with our buddies in Reception for a craft afternoon. We used special acrylic pens to draw Christmas scenes on Petri dishes, we cut out a jigsaw then pieced it together, coloured then folded Origami objects and used PurpleMash for Christmas computing activities. What a busy time we had!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and happy new year.

Mathletics/Spelling Homework for next week/Winter break
admin on: Class 6
Morning all,
There will be spellings, as usual, next week - the same 8 words from the Y6 appendix as this week, which your child will be tested on next Thursday.
I won't be setting any spellings over the break.
Mathletics-wise, I have assigned two practice SAT tests - one arithmetic and one reasoning. Both have a maximum time limit of one hour, but your child should be able to do in a fraction of that. These will be available from next Monday (the 16th Dec), but can be completed any time before Monday the 6th of January.
These tests are very similar to the actual SATs and I would encourage you to work through them with your child, encouraging them to explain what they are doing and why.
Thank you all for your support.
It's nearly here...
