Mass Observation Day Survey

I don't know if any of you are interested in this - but I think it looks pretty cool.

In 2020 the Mass Observation Archive will be repeating its annual call for day diaries, capturing the everyday lives of people across the UK. The written diaries will be stored in the Archive at The Keep and be used by a wide range of people for research, teaching and learning. This is the 10th Anniversary of the 12th May Diary project.
Have a look and see what you think...

Morning all,
So... day 3 of non-SATs week. I hope you are enjoying your breakfasts. I'm having Rice Krispies.
I hope you did some running along with Mrs Barker yesterday... KBLA went out with Floss:
Alex went out on his hover board - but he has a sprained ankle, so that's allowed.
Reading: 30 minutes - as usual, please. I'd like some more photos.
English: You now have your original stories back. It is time to end the story. DON'T rush this. I don't want these stories back until Friday. Today, I'd like you to read it all through TOGETHER. I'd like you to edit the story so far. There are some problems. Some of you started in the 3rd person, then another person took over and - by mistake - went into the first. There is punctuation to correct. Please make sure ALL the chapters are in the same font and colour.
THEN, I'd like you to talk about how this should and will end. Remember you began with a hook; make sure this has a barn-storming end!
My tip is to edit and read today, think overnight, then get together again on Thursday and begin to write.
Maths:
English comprehension: Schofield and Sims - Child Employment. Answers tomorrow.
Music/Art topic: I would like you to design the new album for your favourite band, or singer. Make up a track-listing, 8-10 song titles. Give the album a name that fits and design the front cover and rear - with tracklisting.
Send photos of them through to me please. I am in school on Thursday and Friday and will select a winner with help from Mrs Kendal and Miss Watkins.
And that's your lot for today...
Have a great day... and don't forget to exercise!

Good evening all,
You should all have your original stories back now... don't worry about doing anything with them tonight - I've been waiting for some back and have only been able to get them out now.
I'll give you instructions on finishing the stories with tomorrow's blog.
Have a good evening,
Mr C

Good morning!
Why did the scarecrow win an award?
Because he was outstanding in his field!
I hope you've all got your running gear on... today's the day! I hope you'll all be joining Mrs Barker in the Race for Life.
Don't forget to send your photos to Mrs B on her email: class2@netherthongprimary.co.uk

Reading: Don't forget your 30 minutes... keep sending photos...
Writing: I'm still waiting for some of your chapter 4s. Please send them through as soon as possible, so that I can send these back out - some people are chasing in excitement.

Topic: Sustainability and Plastics! This is a fun one... https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z6dj7nb

Race for Life

So the Netherthong Race for Life is tomorrow at 1pm! I know so many of you have organised your own event in your gardens and surrounding areas. We have had so much support through the fundraising link, we are now at around 75% of our £1000 target. Please keep sharing this link so that we can reach our goal.
If you take any photos or videos of your event, please email them to class2@netherthongprimary.co.uk If you send in your pictures, we will automatically presume you give us permission to use on the website and other sites associated with Cancer Research. I hope to put some kind of montage together when I recover from running around the playground! This will be a wonderful whole school collaboration at a time when we can’t be together. Good luck – knowing that you are all there will spur me on, I’m sure!
Happy running!
Mrs Barker
