Fantastic blog from Miss H this morning - don't you LOVE what James has done?
We need more people like James in this world.
Don't forget reading and exercise everyone.
I also wanted to share Alex's game with you, from yesterday - it's a winner!
Can you escape Lockdown, safely?
Have a great weekend, or gut Wochende, as Fraulein H would say.

Guten Morgen Jahr 6! Fräulein H hier.
Just thought I would share this with you ...
My partner, James has been a key worker throughout these troubled times. He is a line painter, keeping our roads safe. This week he was asked to do something little different and special. He was asked to paint something for our wonderful NHS, here it what he did …
In case you are unsure what my hello said, look it up! A hint, today in DT we are travelling to Germany to try cooking some food form this part of the world…
A pretzel (German: Brezel or Breze) is a type of baked bread product made from dough, most commonly shaped into a twisted knot. Pretzels originated in Germany, most likely among monasteries in the Early Middle Ages. The traditional pretzel shape is a distinctive symmetrical looped form, with the ends of a long strip of dough intertwined and then twisted back into itself in a certain way (“a pretzel loop”). Pretzels now come in different shapes. Salt is the most common seasoning for pretzels, complementing the washing soda or lye treatment that gives pretzels their traditional “skin” and flavour through the Maillard reaction; other seasonings include sugars, chocolate, glazes, seeds, and/or nuts.
Here is a recipe for soft pretzels for you to try at home:
When you reach step 4 in the pretzel recipe you will need to look at this information about ‘Kneading Dough.’
1. Press the heels of both hands, or your knuckles, into the dough. Then, push the dough away from you firmly.
2. Fold the dough in half and turn it around. Push the dough away from you again. Then, fold it in half and turn it around.
3. Carry on pushing the dough away from you, folding and turning it around, until it feels smooth and springy.
Have fun and Auf Wiedersehen!
Miss H xx

Buongiorno tutti,
Come state?
As you can see, I'm still doing Duolingo - Day 290 - and I hope as many of you as possible are having a go. As I mentioned before, I also go on Memrise every day. Now, my son Paddy has introduced me to another app - Buusu - which I LOVE! I would encourage you to try it - pick a language, any language and do a little every day. It is a really fun way to pick up another language ready for high school.
Reading: Keep doing the 30 minutes a day.
Exercise: Now the weather has got warmer again, there's no excuse.
Brilliant writing from Georgie - it's really weird not seeing writing at the moment; I'd quite forgotten how good you all are in year six.
Here's Rogan, getting his daily exercise; good lad!

I saw two men fighting over a crossword clue (2 down, 'altercation', 8 letters).
I told them, violence is NOT the answer!
Have a good one!

Good morning everybody!
I bought my daughter a fridge for her birthday.
I can't wait to see her face light up when she opens it!
That was a joke - her birthday was actually on Sunday. One of the best things that she got was a game called Articulate. I really recommend it. We played last night and I think it is the first game that we have ever played as a family where nobody has got upset or fallen out with anyone. It was a lot of fun.
So... Topic: Invent a new game. This must be something that you can play around the table with your family, or friends.
You must - give it a name, think about how many players you need, what the layout is, what equipment is needed (dice? cards?), how do you win? what is the object of the game? what are the rules?
Finally, I'd like a diagram of the game with labels to make it clear.
You never know, this could make you rich!
We will be doing the same topic this week in school.
Reading and Exercise: 30 minutes at least for each please.
Geography: This is all about the Lake District - enjoy! https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zd49ydm
GPS: Commas, brackets and dashes revision - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zrdyvk7
Why aren't koalas actually bears?
They don't meet the koalafications.
Have a lovely day!

Morning,
Did you hear about the claustrophobic astronaut?
He just needed a little space.
Reading and Exercise: the usual 30 minutes please. All the children here in school are reading from 9:30 until 10 and we are outside for a minimum of 30 minutes each day. We still haven't mastered football with social distancing, but we are in discussion...
History: Vikings. I've always been interested in this subject and, in the last few years, Mr Hobson has got me into the Amazon Prime show, Vikings, which I watch with Paddy. The history is incredible - especially the story of Ragnar Lothbrok.
