Teams meeting with local MP Jason McCartney
admin on: Class 6
13th November 2020
Today, year 5 and 6 had a very special teams meeting. Our local MP, Jason McCartney, got in touch and wanted to meet with the children to explain his role as an MP and to answer any questions they had to ask him. We found out about his life before becoming an MP, he told us about the video call he had with Sir David Attenborough and even showed us the picture of him meeting the Queen! The questions that the children thought of really got Jason thinking and were very probing, Jason was very impressed!
We are really proud of all the children who conducted themselves in an excellent manner and were brilliant ambassadors for the school!
Have a lovely weekend!

Friday feeling

Morning all,
Just a quick end of week post to say well done to all of you supporting your child with the online learning.
This week 2 of the top 3 children in the school on Spelling Shed were from class 6 and we had the highest score, which was over 50,000,000 ! Incredible.
I can't reward you for that, but I will give the class some free time as a reward for their extra efforts.
As I mentioned earlier in the week, there is a Teams assignment on Time to complete for next Wednesday, as well as the usual Mathletics.
It has been reported that Mathletics is acting a little strangely this week; this could be down to teacher error... I will attempt to rectify the situation.
Have a lovely weekend and thanks again for your support.

New Teams assignment.
admin on: Class 6
This week, we have been looking at Time, as part of the topic of Measurements in Maths.
We started to talk about the whys and wherefores of 60 seconds, 60 minutes, etc. Why 60?
So... let's look into it further. The assignment is on Teams, for the children to complete using the Word, or PowerPoint options on there and return to me by Wednesday 18th November.
Most of the children have engaged with Teams. I can see when they have 'viewed' assignments, but not actually completed them and I give feedback on EVERY assignment that is returned, with house points for effort. Some children are still not using Teams and, by next week, if this is your child, you will be getting contacted by the office, to check whether you need any help accessing the platform.
Should we need to move to home learning, the requirement will be that children 'tune in' three times each day, to ensure that they are accessing and completing the work that is being set. This is government enforced and we are very much making sure that we can provide this service to you all in case this becomes a reality.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Thanks, as always, for your support.
