Update 16.9.22

admin on: Class 6

I hope you have a lovely weekend! This week's blog was written by Amelia.

Class 6 Blog by Amelia

This week in English we have been planning and writing a mini-monologue about a ghost we chose last week. We had to write three paragraphs about what happened to us.

In maths, we have been doing rounding and place value up to 1,000,000. We have also been learning how to do long division.

On Wednesday, we did football for P.E.  In football, we ran laps around the field and we also did dribbling.  On Thursday, we did dance; we did corner dancing which is where we walk, do kicks and hopscotch across the hall.  In dance last week we started our dance by getting into four groups and this week we started a few moves of our dance.

Today we did about the Battle of Hastings in History, we learnt why King Harold lost his battle with William the Conqueror.

Welcome to Year 6

admin on: Class 6

Welcome to my new Year 6 class! I am really looking forward to a fantastic year with a fabulous bunch of children. The first blog of the year has been written by Chloe and Emma.

Class 6 blog by Emma and Chloe

The first week back was amazing! Mr K has been so fantastic this week as have Mrs J and Miss K. On Tuesday we made our own exciting board games to play after going to Robinwood and made a sign that says, ‘Welcome to Class 6’.

On Wednesday, we did creative writing about a boy stuck on a train track, in English we did drama where we had to do still life to show the different stories about a graveyard.  Also, we did place value in maths and PE with Mrs Kendal and computing.

Thursday, we did PHSE about year 6 worries, then PE with Lucy, who is our dance teacher. We are doing about a girl in a grave yard in English.

Friday! Wow what a busy day! We watched Newsround about the Queen, then a grammar and spelling lesson.  We did speed tables and mental maths, after lunch we listened to our classmate’s summer projects by Isaac, Laurie and Saskia. We have some food to try from Isaac.  To finish we had merit assembly.

We are really looking forward to Class six!

Thank You and Goodbye

admin on: Class 6

Thank you to every single member of class 6 for the last two years. Both parents and pupils, you have all been amazing and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for all the support, hard work and dedication from everyone. Today was very emotional for us all, but I am now writing this with a smile on my face knowing that these children are ready for the next phase in life and I am just grateful that I have been able to be part of their journey for a little bit. Thank you for every kind word, every gift, every smile, every joke and every email. Please keep in touch and come back and visit us!

7.7.22 Update

admin on: Class 6

Today, the Y6 children had their reception buddies for the morning. They designed a colouring activity sheet for them and an obstacle course. It was lovely to see the two classes together!
