Welcome back! I hope you've all had a restful Easter break.
This week, the children in Year 6 have been working hard on revision for their SATs. We are in the final push now and I am really proud of the effort they are putting in. In addition, we have had a break from SATs revision by starting new orienteering and boxercise units in PE. We have also continued with our art, where we are creating a Jurassic landscape whilst thinking about how to recreate different textures. I will post some pictures of the final product on next week's blog.

This week, the children in Class 6 have been looking at inheritance and adaptation. They have looked at different dog breeds and created their own dog breed based on characteristics from the mother and father. Here is Harris' 'German Bull' which is a combination of a German Shepherd and a Pit Bull:
Also this week, we have said goodbye to Mrs Lindley, who has had her last day at Netherthong today. She has been with us for 18 years and will be greatly missed. The children have made her a lovely card and written about some of their favourite memories with her. From peer massage to circus skills; from nurture time to worry monsters, Mrs Lindley has made a huge impact on the children of Class 6 and we are all sad to see her go.

The children had a very busy start to the week where they took part in different science experiments for British Science Week. They were mixed up with children from Year 3, 4 and 5. Here are some photographs of the children taking part in these activities.
Also, we said a very sad goodbye to Ms. Kewley this week who had her last day today. She has worked with Class 6 on Thursday and Fridays this year and she will be greatly missed. We gave her an 'aisle of honour'. Here is a photo below:

Here are some pictures of the children in Class 6 reading with their buddies for World Book Day yesterday. It was very lovely to see!
Today, the children used large pieces of card to recreate how mountains can be formed due to plate tectonics.

This week, the children celebrated World Kindness Day with Mrs Kendal and created this wonderful poster.
Also, we have had a visit from our local PCSOs who give the children an insight into policing. Some children got to try out some of the equipment!
