Year 6 Blog – Netherthong Primary School
What an exciting week it’s been for Year 6! We’ve had a fantastic time across all our subjects, filled with creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Here's a look at what we've been up to:
English:
This week, we started an exciting new topic inspired by Dark Horse. The story has captured everyone's imagination! We've listened to some chapters, explored the characters, and discussed the unique style of the book. The drama sessions brought the story to life, and we've even started writing our own imaginative versions of what might happen next. The creativity in the classroom has been amazing!
Maths:
Algebra has made its grand entrance! We've been exploring formulae and sequences, uncovering the patterns hidden in numbers. It's been challenging but rewarding to see the logical connections form as we progress.
Science:
We wrapped up our science topic by categorising plants based on their features. From flowers to leaves, we carefully examined what makes each plant unique and gained a deeper understanding of the natural world around us.
PE:
Our baseball and hockey skills are improving each week as we continue to build teamwork and technique. The class has shown great determination and sportsmanship during practice sessions.
DT:
Miss Robb introduced us to our exciting new DT lessons. We explored a variety of spices and foods that we'll be cooking with next week. The room was filled with delicious smells, and everyone is looking forward to putting their culinary skills to the test!
Well done, Year 6, for a brilliant week of learning and fun. Keep up the great work!
