What a fantastic week it has been in Class 6! We’ve been busy learning, creating, and having loads of fun in all our lessons. Here’s a round-up of what we’ve been up to this week.
This week, we dove into the world of explanation texts. We explored their key features, looked at some examples, and then got to work on creating our very own explanation texts. The topic? How to navigate different activities at Robinwood! From brainstorming and drafting to editing and perfecting our final copies, everyone worked hard to craft clear, detailed, and engaging pieces of writing.
In Maths, our focus has been on area, perimeter, and volume. We’ve explored how shapes can be sneaky – some 3D shapes might share the same volume but have completely different perimeters, and vice versa. It was fascinating to see how small changes in dimensions could make a big difference.
Science was *so much fun* this week! We learned all about the heart, including its chambers, ventricles, and atria. To bring our learning to life, we used marshmallows on sticks to mimic our hearts pumping – a great hands-on activity (and we may have eaten a few marshmallows at the end too!).
Our dance routines are really coming together! This week, we introduced new elements like cannons, mirrors, and formations, adding layers of creativity and teamwork. It’s been fantastic to see everyone working so hard and supporting one another as we perfect our moves.
With the festive season fast approaching, we’ve continued practising our lines and songs for the upcoming Christmas performance. Excitement is building, and it’s wonderful to see the class coming together to make this show extra special.
In ICT, we put on our designer hats and worked on creating our very own webpages. It was amazing to see everyone’s creativity and tech skills shine as they brought their designs to life.
All in all, it’s been a brilliant week full of learning and fun. Well done, Class 6 – let’s keep the enthusiasm going as we head into next week!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Clayton
