Class 6 Weekly Update: History, Gymnastics, and Science Fun!

This week in Class 6 has been full of exciting activities! In English, we’ve started a brand-new topic all about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, an event that played a huge role in starting World War I. We’ve been learning about what happened and why it was so important. Everyone has begun planning their own newspaper articles on this event, and we’ll be writing them over the next few weeks, just like real reporters from 1914!

In maths, we’ve been recapping some important skills, focusing on fractions and decimals. We’ve been practicing converting between them, and we’ve also sharpened our skills with multiplying by 10, 100, and 1,000. Everyone is doing a fantastic job!

In PE, we finalised our gymnastics routines and had an amazing time performing them for the class. It was great to see all the creativity and effort that went into each routine!

In science, we explored the fascinating world of *refraction*! We completed two cool experiments to see how light bends and changes direction when it passes through different materials. It was so much fun to see this in action!

Lastly, this afternoon we got to meet our brand new buddies in Reception. We spent the afternoon reading stories, playing games and chatting away, it was wonderful!

What a busy and fun week we’ve had—great work, everyone!
