Good morning Y6...

Miss H here again!

You are all working so hard. I have been trying to look after my mental health by doing things I find therapeutic! Myself, my Grandma and Mum have taken inspiration from Mr C and started to complete jigsaws. We are working on a Wasjig, a scene from a vet. I will keep you posted with our progress. Also, we have been doing a lot of baking which all of us find relaxing and yummy! I found an app where you can colour by numbers. When we are colouring, time floats away and the mandalas are especially relaxing to sit and colour.

So, on to today:

Reading: the usual 30 minutes, at least, please. You are going to be writing a book review shortly, so keep it up.

Science: Carrying on with our topic of Living things and their habitats today. Research the scientists Carl Linnaeus and his system of classification. How will you present your ideas? Video? PowerPoint? Written form? Then, choose one of the living things below and find out how it is classified in the Linnaeus system. Complete the levels of classification to show what you have found out, which can also be found below.

Computing: On PurpleMash, carry on writing your blog diaries! The ones I have read so far are fabulous! Please comment on your other blogs to see what other people are up to.

PE: Hopefully you are all still doing the Joe Wick at 9am. I'd also like you to line up a variety of different objects of different shapes, sizes etc. on a raised level. See if you can bowl different objects over, practising your aim.

Art: Choose an object and do a still life drawing of it. Can you make it abstract in any way?

Bit of fun for you now, with everyone at home, take it in turns to close your eyes (or use a blind fold) to draw an elephant. What will yours look like? Here is mine, my Grandma’s and Mrs Hemingway’s attempt …

My Mum's

Here is the Lego challenge for today! From Monday, all challenges are going to be posted on the school blog. I will still post the creations that get sent to us. Remember to email me your creations! Here is the tower I made at my Grandma's house, can you beat it? If you don’t have Lego, don’t worry any construction material will do …

What an interesting two weeks it has been and Easter is here already! I hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend and holiday. Remember we are still going to be keeping in touch via the blog and we are just an email away if you need anything! Don't eat too many chocolate eggs …

Stay safe everyone!

Miss H
