Tuesday 24th March

Good Morning all (or Buongiorno, as myself and Rio would say - as we are both doing Italian on Duolingo!),

First of all can I just thank Alex, Leila, Georgie, Tom and Rio for emailing me and sending some work; it was SOOOOOOO good to hear from you guys. I'm going to post photos of your work later on - superb! There were also some photos of smiley faces, which I'm hoping they are happy for me to share with you.

After last night's address from Boris, we are now even more isolated. I hope you are all ok and you can continue to treat this as an opportunity to spend time with your families, before you become nasty teenagers, who just want to be shut in your rooms, not communicating with the outside world. Grab hold of this chance now!

We've been playing Trivial Pursuits here - we got the new version, which is quite challenging, but in a good way. We've also been playing dominoes. I'm happy to say that I am 2 nil up against Mr Kershaw at Scrabble Go. He has invited me back for game 3! I also had two ZOOM meetings with Miss Kelly, Mrs Moran and Mrs Barker. On the second one, Mrs Moran wore a blonde wig! So I dug out a Stetson that I bought once in Texas. The world is certainly changing around us. I walked up my drive this morning and it felt like summer was coming. Fingers crossed.

So, on to today. Before I start, EVERYONE in the world (or at least my world) seems to have been doing Keep Fit with Joe Wicks. So, this morning, at 9am, go on YouTube and wake yourself up, along with a million or so others. Leila sent me a photo of her doing it - with Joe in the background (I'm hoping she gives me permission to show you).

After fun with Joe, onto fun with Mr C (ish):

Read - 30 minutes please. Yesterday, we took delivery of 4 copies of George Orwell's book, Animal Farm, so we'll be doing that here too.

Writing - continue with the diaries. Hopefully I can post some excellent examples later.

Maths - Solving Problems with Decimals. Again, it is up to you what level of challenge you decide on.

Those of you still wanting exercise, let's move onto 6 x press-ups and 6 x sit-ups (once you've warmed up with 30 star jumps and jogged on the spot for 3 minutes). Challenge a parent to join in - I'd LOVE to see those photo!

Topic - Africa: I'd like you to try to list ALL the countries in Africa. See if you can work out how many there are.

GPS - Changing Tense. These last few pages are basically KS3 level, so don't worry too much about them, just have a go.

Language - Speak to your parents, see if you can download the Duolingo app and have a go for 15 minutes.

Rio recommends Genius Square. I'll hopefully put a photo on later.

Keep in touch and, if you are sending me photos of your work, please let me know if I have your permission to share them with everyone else.

Stay safe, keep smiling and be positive.

Mr C x
