10th June 2019
Today we had a fantastic trip to YWP. We saw a wide range of animals from the polar bears to the squirrel monkeys! All children represented the school brilliantly. I am incredibly proud of the children as they did a lot of walking and coped really well with the heavy rain! Thank you to all the adults who came and helped. I hope everyone has a well deserved rest!

Today, the children were visited by Esther Wilkey, a lady who has lived in Kenya and goes back to visit frequently. She told the children about what life was like including; where they lived, what food they ate, which animals lived there, where children went to school and many more interesting facts. Esther even mentioned about the encounters school had with cheeky monkeys who try to steal their food! It was such an enjoyable afternoon and the children and myself couldn't thank Esther enough for coming in!

Today, children have a visit from Helen and Sophie from fairandfunky. The children took part in a workshop where they explored different plastics, how they are damaging the environment and how we can help. They then used recycled materials to create fish and a giant whale! Stay tuned to see the display we are going to make in school with the finished pieces of artwork.
